I Will Bless You and You Will Be a Blessing: Study and Discussion on Resources for Blessing Same Gender Relationships

In response to resolutions adopted by the General Convention 2009, the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music (SCLM) has prepared and distributed excerpts from a Resource for Study and Discussion entitled I Will Bless You and You Will Be a Blessing:  Resources for Blessing Same-Gender Relationships.

It is my hope to utilize once again, the Cognitional Structure Process by Bernard Lonergan to experience the rites and then seek to understand, make a judgment and decision regarding the rites and theological resources which accompany the rites.

During the Sunday Forums on 22 April, 29 April, 6 May, 13 May and 20 May, we will talk through the rites, then walk through the proposed rites, and then read, review and discuss the supporting Theological Resources.  The Sunday Forum begins just after 9 a.m. and concludes about 9:50 a.m.

You can access the resources by clicking below.  The Resource prepared by the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music is available.  The Process and Schedule of our Conversation on this material is posted below as well.

This is another important opportunity for all of us to experience and reflect on the work of the Church which will be discussed, perhaps amended and decided upon at the General Convention in Indianapolis in July.  I hope you can participate in the Study and Discussion Process.  I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Easter Blessings!

Doug
