Come down, O love divine…wherein the Holy Spirit makes a dwelling!

Come down, O Love divine, seek thou this soul of mine,

And visit it with thine own ardor glowing;

O Comforter draw near, within my heart appear,

And kindle it, thy holy flame bestowing;

And so the yearning strong, with which the soul will long,

Shall far out pass the power of human telling;

For none can guess its grace, till Love create a place

Wherein the Holy Spirit makes a dwelling.

These verses are from one of my favorite hymns in The Hymnal 1982…# 516…Down Ampney is the tune…Come down, O love divine…invoking…describing the gifting of the Holy Spirit!

On Saturday, 19 May 2012, at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour in Faribault, Minnesota, people from various Faith Communities throughout the Episcopal Church in Minnesota, gathered to reaffirm their Baptismal Promises in the rites of Confirmation, Reception and Reaffirmation. Since January, 10 High School Students from St. Luke’s and 1 High School Student from St. Peter’s have been meeting every Sunday as part of the Confirmation Process.  In March, these candidates met for a Day of Retreat with their sponsors / mentors and the Catechists to listen to each other’s Faith Story.

Since Christmas, on Wednesday evenings, several adults in the St. Luke’s Community met the a process call GIFT…Growing In Faith Together…to reflect on scripture, share their Journey of Faith with one another and learn about the particular Charisms of the Episcopal Church.  5 Adult Believers of the St. Luke’s Community were confirmed or received on Saturday as well!

Last Saturday…Love…incarnate in Jesus, the Risen Christ…created a place wherein the Holy Spirit made a dwelling…within us…among us…around us!

Please continue to pray for Alexandra, Allison, Emilio, Colin, Ian, Justin, Gavin, David, Jon, Christopher, Anthony, Julia, John, Jane, John and Nora!  We are blessed by their presence…and their decision to join us in our work of engaging God’s Mission!  Enjoy the pictures!
